Free Press Summer Fest preview: What Made Milwaukee Famous

May 28th, 2012 · No Comments

What Made Milwaukee Famous is an pop-centric indie rock band from Texas that I have been a fan of for years, ever since hearing “Idecide”. Barsuk re-released the band’s debut and follow-up, and the band has been relatively quiet lately, playing the occasional gig and working on new music. WMMF will release a new album this year, according to the band’s website:

Geez, Louise. Where on earth have we been? It’s been such a long time…around and back again. Well, we’re back again. We’ve been hard at work on our new album, You Can’t Fall Off The Floor.  And it’s done!  We’ll have it to you in a matter of weeks. In the meantime, feel free to stream “Demons & Monkeys (And You & Me. And Me & Me)” from the new album. Stay tuned to our sites for info about the new album and upcoming shows. Thanks for sticking around…

The band plays a gig in Houston this weekend as part of Free Press Summer Fest, which runs June 2-3, 2012, in Eleanor Tinsley Park on the edge of downtown.

Here’s a video from the band’s second album:

What Made Milwaukee Famous plays at Free Press Summer Fest’s Stage 5 this Sunday (6.3.12) at 6:30pm.
