Local funk rockers Fondue Monks has been a Houston staple for 20 years and celebrates with a set of shows around Houston this weekend. On Friday (1.21.11), the band plays at The Hideaway (3122 Dunvale @ Richmond). On Saturday (1.22.11), the band plays at Uncle Albert’s Pub (6172 Barker Cypress).

Wild Moccasins launch European tour in February, kick-off show

Houston indie-pop band Wild Moccasins, whose Skin Collision Past was my favorite local release last year, plan to head to Europe next month for a fairly extensive tour. See dates after the jump.
The band also plans a tour kick-off at Fitzgerald’s on February 12th, with Young Mammals and Wicked Poseur.
