Houston dramatic rockers The Manichean celebrate the release of its EP, Lacerus Rising, with a show this Thursday night (12.23.10) at Avant Garden.

The Manichean

Here is more information from The Manichean’s Cory Sinclair:

The spirits of our pasts and futures seem to coalesce in the face of another ending, another year, and the ghosts of the present are laughing and dancing and kissing. The cold kicks up quite a spectacle amongst the bodies and lips of winter, and still amorous warmth swells within in the belly of December, like a phoenix hatching in snow…

As an antecedent to our first full-length, LOVERS, The Manichean would like to present to you Lacerus Rising – a brief album containing remixes of our most evocative tale yet, Lacerus. Ranging from 8-bit composition to otherworldly re-imagining, this is further detail into the visage that is Lacerus himself.

This release shall be celebrated at the most haunting and impassioned venue in Houston ~ AvantGarden in the Montrose. As guests for the evening we have asked those responsible for his namesake’s transformation to perform their original work as well: a one Mr. Will Schorre, the venerable Webby Appleton, that rogue Mirm, and the man responsible for the resurrection of Lacerus, Vincent Priceless.

Additionally, The Manichean shall be showcasing yet more new material to be expected on the upcoming album. This occasion shall take place on the night of Thursday, December 23rd. The price of admission is $5 for guests over the age of 21 and $8 for the minors – doors are at eight. We respectfully request that attendees dress in the colors of our revenant: black, white, and red.

While ‘LOVERS’ shall not see the light of the moon til next year, here we offer to you the eponymous track of our new EP, ‘Lacerus Rising’, as conceived and thus thoroughly executed by our cohort Vincent Priceless.

To the flames of your new year,
~Cory Sinclair, The Manichean
