Houston Calling

The Jonx tonight at Numbers

May 27th, 2007 · No Comments

In case you haven’t heard about tonight’s show:

The Jonx are honored to announce that, this Sunday, May 27, we will be opening for Melt-Banana, the lords of Japanese noise-grind-rock and the Best Live Band In The World. NO ARGUMENTS ON THIS TOPIC WILL BE ENTERTAINED. If you haven’t seen Melt-Banana before you owe it to yourself to come to this show. Your mind will be blown, so bring a spare, or one of those cans of fix-a-brain. I heard that stuff is pretty flammable though so they may not let you bring it inside.

We’re playing first, promptly at 9 PM. XBXRX, a band who, much like Houston’s own Fatal Flying Guilloteens, started out basically as a joke and have grown into a surprisingly good punk band, will play second. I’ve also heard them accused of ripping of the Guilloteens’ shtick and/or costumes, so don’t be surprised if any of them play in pink turtlenecks or announce unexpectedly that it’s their last show with the band even though it’s a weeknight and they’re NOT EVEN HEADLINING I MEAN WHAT THE HELL.

This show is at NUMBERS on SUNDAY, MAY 27 and again, we have been informed that it will begin at 9 PM SHARP. $10 advance, $12 day of show. Tickets available at superunison.com.

Cool.
