Houston bands to play at CMJ

Houston musicians again make the roster at this year’s CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. Among those slated to perform are Robert Ellis, The Tontons, Grandfather Child, Josiah Hall, and New York City Queens, as part of The Texas Takeover Party.
Castle Lights also plays a showcase during CMJ.

The Dead Revolt preps new EP

The Dead Revolt, which had one of my favorite local releases last year (Vanixer), is set to release a new EP called A Night of Nastalgia. The band plans to release one song per week via its website, leading up to the release show (which is still being scheduled).

New Maserati album available for pre-order

The upcoming Maserati album, VII, is now available for pre-order via the Temporary Residence website. The CD version is $10 and the double vinyl version is $15. The first 200 vinyl orders will receive a limited-edition colored vinyl: clear with gray haze and clear with maroon haze. The album will be released on 10.16.12.
