January 29th, 2007 · 2 Comments

According to what I have read so far this year, there’s a lot of great bands putting out new albums in 2007. Competition will be fierce…

Here’s some of the albums I am looking forward to this year.

Explosions In The Sky — All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone (due in February)
The Good, The Bad & The Queen — self-titled (in stores 1.23.07)
British Sea Power — TBA
Interpol — TBA
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — Baby 81 (due 5.1.07)
Wilco — (due in May)
Doves — TBA
Earlimart — TBA
Low — Drums and Guns (due in March)

The new album by The Shins is good.

Oh, and Guns’N’Roses’ Chinese Democracy, tentatively scheduled for this spring. Don’t hold your breath…

In local music, I hope to hear new releases from the following bands–who may or may not be working on new material. Let’s hope so…

Arthur Yoria | Tody Castillo | Pale | The Methods | Bring Back The Guns | The Dimes | Michael Haaga | Southern Backtones | Fondue Monks | Greg Wood

i’ve heard both eits and g,b,&q’s albums

all of a sudden i miss everyone hasn’t grown on me at all, but i haven’t had the time to listen to the enitire album in one sitting yet

the good, the bad, and the queen’s album is alright. it has a few high points (herculean and the self titled track)but doesn’t realy explode with the musical greatness one would think it would.

What about Bloc Party, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse?
