On Friday, November 9th, please make plans to come out to DiverseWorks for a great pair of art openings: Claude Wampler: PERFORMANCE (career ender) & Devendra Banhart: Some Drawings. Houston Calling is a sponsor of this event, so please come out and show some support. Thank you.
If you are familiar with musician Devendra Banhart’s folky/psychedelic tunes, it will come as no surprise to see his quirky line drawings. You can check out his music online here. Banhart’s record label, Gnomonsong, has released some of (former) Houston musician Jana Hunter‘s recent work. I am really looking forward to seeing his artwork–should be interesting. Please note that the musician will not be performing and will not be present, but his artwork will and so should you.
Claude Wampler’s latest performance art piece, PERFORMANCE (career ender), continues the artist’s tradition of audience participation. Wampler’s performances are at 8pm and 10pm after the opening, which runs from 6pm-8pm. Get your tickets now.
Tickets ($15 gen adm/$10 member/$8 student) are available online at the DiverseWorks website or you reserve tickets by calling 713.335.3445.
I hope that you can attend. Please help spread the word by telling your friends, family, co-workers, etc.
