Country crooner Dwight Yoakam is somewhat of an anomaly in the country music industry. While many modern country artists are disposable pop, Yoakam has continually challenged himself and his fans by seemingly never giving into trends. With more than 20 albums to his credit since the 1980s, Yoakam continues to make his mark in the industry, and last year was named artist of the year by The Americana Music Association.
