The Linus Pauling Quartet

Houston’s The Linus Pauling Quartet (or LP4) have been making music for almost 20 years–an impressive feat in any city–and the group shows no signs of slowing down. Last year’s Bag Of Hammers (one of my favorite Houston releases of 2012) was followed by the three-disc anthology Assault on the Vault of the Ancient Bonglords.

The band was chosen to play at this year’s South By Southwest, which runs March 8-17, in Austin.

Here are a couple of videos from the band:

The Linus Pauling Quartet plays an official SXSW showcase Friday, 3/15, at The Parish Underground (214 E. 6th St.) at 9:20pm.

More information about LP4 may be found at here.
