Sad news that long-time Houston band Bright Men Of Learning is calling it quits. You can read the details from Jeremy Hart at Space City Rock, but do yourself a favor and go to Vinyl Junkie (4202 Canal) today (Saturday, 3.10.12) to catch the band’s final show, along with a slew of other local bands (Art Institute and A Sundae Drive, among them) and a couple of out-of-towners.

The fun begins at 3pm and BMOL’s set is at 8pm.

Having seen Bright Men of Learning a number of times, including at the second Houston Calling Happy Hour in October 2006, I can honestly say I am bummed to hear this. Alas, life goes on — I wish all the band members well.
