SXSW preview: Kasabian

March 5th, 2012 · 1 Comment

English rockers Kasabian are huge in their home country yet the band gets fairly minimal fanfare here in the U.S., with debut single “Club Foot” being the only song most have likely heard here. That doesn’t mean, however, that the band hasn’t consistently released new and interesting albums. The disappointing Empire aside, Kasabian has a trio of decent albums under its belt, including the recent Velociraptor.

In a rare trip to the States, the band hits Texas this month for an official South By Southwest 2012 showcase in Austin. The band also stops in Houston next Thursday, 3.15.12, for a show at Fitzgerald’s. This will undoubtedly be a packed show, so get your tickets now.

Here’s the video for the band’s latest single, “Days Are Forgotten”:

Here’s a video for “Fire,” from the excellent album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum:

And finally, here’s the video for “Club Foot”:

Kasabian plays in Austin during SXSW at 1100 Warehouse on Wednesday, 3.14.12, at 1am. For more information on the band, visit www.kasabian.co.uk.

I liked Empire. Sure it may be the weakest of their four albums, but Empire, Shoot The Runner and Doberman are bad ass jams.
