Houston-based prog rockers Scale The Summit were among the bands selected to play an official showcase in Austin during SXSW 2o12.
The band’s 2011 release, The Collective, was among my favorite Houston albums last year, and the band continues to expand its fanbase with its explosive sound and undeniable talent. They’re serious, and it shows.

Scale The Band plays an official South By Southwest showcase in Austin at Valhalla on Friday, 3.16.12, at 1am.

These guys are awesome! Chris was voted one of the top 3 metal guitarist under 30 this year! The rest of the guys, Travis, Jordan, and Pat are totally legit too. Not your typical metal band, very emotional, and highly inspirational to musicians and non-musicians alike. Go see them if you get a chance!
