Legendary Liverpudlians Echo & The Bunnymen—one of my favorites since around 1985 or so–returns to Houston this Friday (5.6.11) at Warehouse Live–the same night Wilco plays Verizon, unfortunately–to play a show that features 1980 album Crocodiles and 1981’s Heaven Up Here in their entirety. The band’s latest release, 2009’s The Fountain, is a decent listen but doesn’t have the punch of the band’s earlier efforts, so this is an excellent opportunity to hear the band playing some of its best music.
Here’s a taste of the Bunnymen live:
Houston’s Brit-influenced The Watermarks opens the show. Excellent choice there…
Check out the Houston Press‘ preview of Friday’s show.
