April 6th, 2011 · No Comments

B L A C K I E “in 3D” is tomorrow night (Thursday, 4.7.11) at Warehouse Live (read more about the show on 29-95.com). Friday night marks Roky Moon & BOLT‘s tour kickoff show at The Mink with Poor Pilate, Jim and the Toms, and Springfield Riots. Also on Friday, Spain Colored Orange, Tax The Wolf, The Manichean, Ozeal, and Jealous Creatures play The Continental Club — should be an excellent show.

Friday also marks the return of “The Houston Sound Spring Concert Series,” which features Benjamin Wesley and MoTel Aviv, before the latter’s show at Fitz’s with Glasnost. This takes place downtown at Market Square from 6:30-8:30pm and is a free show.

Saturday (4.9.11) is the 20th Annual KTRU Outdoor Show at Rice’s central quad (follow the crowd), which features Washed Out, Real Estate, Mister Heavenly, Ducktails, Grandfather Child, Young Mammals, Sundress, The Tontons, Wicked Poseur, Fat Tony, and The Smoking Section. Also on Saturday, Co-Pilot opens for Maserati and My Education at The Mink. This will undoubtedly be an excellent show.

Born Liars and Female Demand play with A Giant Dog, Talk Sick Brats, The Examples, and Funboys at Houston House of Creeps at 7:30pm.

On Sunday (4.10.11), The Caroline Sessions hosts Robin Kirby & Puente at the Caroline Collective from 2-5pm. This is a free event.

British crooner Bobby Long plays a free in-store show at Cactus Music on Sunday afternoon before playing a show at Fitzgerald’s.
