Steve Harris’ Rockefeller’s: A Visual History photo show at Cactus

This Saturday (9.11.10) Record Ranch inside Cactus Music features the art show opening of Rockefeller’s: A Visual History, which features the photography of Steve Harris.

The show runs from 7-10pm. There will be a DJ and beverages will be provided by St. Arnold Brewing Co.

As house photographer for Rockefeller’s – the legendary Houston live music venue, Steve Harris, was able to document the performances by some of music’s greatest names. Shooting strictly black & white film, trying to capture the grittiness of one stop on the road for the artists, he was able to build a captivating body of work that sums up a special time in Houston, Texas.

Images of Jimmie Vaughan, Richard thompson, Warren Zevon, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, ZZ Top, Kris Kristofferson, Joe Ely, Albert King and many more will be on display. Large display pieces, as well as 5 x 7 and 8 x 10 prints will be available.
