Today (Saturday, 2.27.10) is a busy today in Houston music. Local punk rockers Something Fierce play a free in-store set at Cactus Music at 3pm. Be sure to come out and show your support.

Tonight, Tegan and Sara plays Warehouse Live with Steel Train. This is sure to be a packed show. You can read a funny review of the Dallas show on the Dallas Observer music blog.

Also tonight, Free Press Houston hosts its 7th Anniversary party with a show at Mango’s that includes Young Mammals, Golden Axe, Wild Moccasins, Fat Tony, Papermoons, Ceeplus Bad Knives, and more. Cover is $10. No word on set times.

Finally, The Mink (718 Main St.) hosts The Festival at The Mink 2, which starts at 6pm in the Backroom and includes a lot of good local and regional bands, such as Flowers To Hide, Gretchen Schmaltz, The Sour Notes, and Alkari. The cover is $8 ($10 for 18+). Here’s the schedule for this show:
