One of my favorite things about SXSW each year is the chance to see showcasing bands in alternate, and sometimes less-crowded venues, during the day. For years now, Filter magazine‘s South By Southwest party has been one on nearly everyone’s list. With free BBQ and a stellar line-up that in the past has included Metric, The Flaming Lips, Grand Old Party, and Great Northern, the party is hard to top. This year, Filter again sponsors a party at Cedar Street in Austin on Thursday-Saturday, 3.18.10-3.20.10. The line-up includes Minus The Bear, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Athlete, Dr Dog, Band of Skulls, Sereena Maneesh, and more.
