C’mon now: The Cult returns to Houston

September 4th, 2009 · No Comments

The Cult returns to Houston this Sunday night (8.6.09) to play House of Blues on its Love tour. The band will perform its incredible 1985 album in its entirety, and undoubtedly throw in some of the latter hits as well. My only hope is they stay true to the album and don’t blow it out with the stadium rock sound that got them more well-known in the late Eighties (from the video below, it seems they are doing fine).

I have been a fan of Love since hearing it shortly after it was released. You can read more of my thoughts on the album in an old article I did for the now-defunct Splendid magazine.

Check this recent live video of “Big Neon Glitter”:

I believe the show is sold out.

Also, Billy Duffy fans should check out Coloursound, the little-known collaboration he did a few years back with Mike Peters of The Alarm and Craig Adams of The Mission.
