In the wake of today’s announcement that underground rock haven Walter’s on Washington will soon close its doors, local musician/photographer/writer Jeff Balke (of Orange Is In) has penned “The Doucheification of Washington Avenue Soon Complete,” which you can read here.

Here’s hoping that the venue’s new location involves a newer building with much cleaner restrooms.

I can’t say I’m sad to not have to drive down Washington Avenue anymore, but it definitely sucks to see one of Houston’s best venues to see up-and-coming bands close.
