Jimmy Webb plays The Woodlands

July 30th, 2009 · No Comments

Legendary songwriter/musician (and father to The Webb Brothers) Jimmy Webb plays Friday night (7.31.09) at Dosey Doe Coffee House in The Woodlands.

Tickets are $62 and $74, which apparently includes a salad, dessert, entree, and beverage, in addition to the show. Thankfully, I am not yet old enough for that to sound like a good way to see a concert but the chance to see Webb live may be too good to pass up.

More about the musician may be found on his website. I interviewed one of The Webb Brothers prior to this year’s SXSW, where the brothers played with their famous father in anticipation of their upcoming collaboration, Cottonwood Farm, which hits UK record stores in November (and will be available here).

The Webb Brothers are a long-time favorite of mine and I strongly suggest tracking down the band’s now out-of-print albums, especially Maroon (which you can get used here starting at a penny).

This week’s Houston Press previews the show.
