This Saturday (10.4.08), from noon-3pm, Cactus Music hosts the bands participating in the upcoming Rock the Boat benefit (which is Sunday, 10.12.08, at The Meridian). Come check out local bands Deep Ella, Paris Green, Straightfork, and Morgue City at this free show.

The Rock the Boat Hurricane Ike Relief Concert, scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Meridian, in downtown Houston, will directly support causes working toward the relief of victims of Hurricane Ike. Millions of citizens were affected by this immense storm, but as it begins to recede into the past, we cannot forget those still struggling in its aftermath. To that end, Rock the Boat will raise funds through the staging and sponsorship of the event, to directly benefit the Bush-Clinton Gulf Coast Relief Fund, as well as local musicians affected by Ike.

An afternoon, all-ages event, this concert is open to all those who wish to attend, and enjoy a brief respite from recovery work, with music, media, auctions/giveaways and more! Please join us at Cactus Music, on October 4th to see a sneak preview of the bands scheduled to perform at Rock the Boat!
