Houston Calling

Benjamin Wesley solo gig at Catalina Coffee

July 16th, 2008 · No Comments

I am huge (HUGE!) espresso fan (actually, iced Americanos are my afternoon favorite). Anyway, it’s a drug and I’m addicted–for a few years running now. One of the best purveyors of the bean I’ve found in Houston is Catalina Coffee on Washington Ave. (just down from A Front and Darkhorse Tavern). I recently found out that Catalina Coffee is throwing their hat in the live music realm with a show by musician Benjamin Wesley this Friday night (7.18.08). Some of you may know Ben from Basses Loaded and Tha’ Fucking Transmissions (who are opening for Public Enemy in L.A. soon, by the way).

I got a chance to spend some time with Benjamin Wesley at the Sleepercar show last night (yes, it was amazing) and he is a nice, genuine guy. I strongly suggest checking out his show this Friday night. The show starts at 8pm and there will be free food and drinks, along with artwork by Lovie Olivia and Robert Hodge.
