65daysofstatic open for The Cure at Toyota Center tonight

If you’re planing on going to see The Cure at the Toyota Center tonight (Monday, 6.9.08)–and you know you are–do yourself and whoever you’re going with a huge favor and get there early enough to catch opening act 65daysofstatic. These guys were hand-picked by Robert Smith to open their tour and if you’ve ever heard their music–especially last year’s The Destruction of Small Ideas–you’ll know why.

You can check out an interview I did with the band in the June issue of the Free Press Houston.

Also, the band’s previous albums were recently reissued and they have a new four-song EP called The Distant and Mechanized Glow of Eastern European Dance Parties. I assume they’ll be available at the show.
