Houston Calling

The weekend in Houston rock

May 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Tonight (Thursday, 5.29.08), Austin’s The Sword play with Torche and Stinking Lizaveta at Rudyard’s. Also, The Marshall Tucker Band plays with Whiskey Myers at The Meridian.

On Friday (5.30.08), The Riff Tiffs–whose Afflictinnitus you need to hear–play with Snowden and Colour Revolt at Walter’s. This will be a good one, for sure.

Also on Friday night, Hayes Carll (whose song “Beaumont” won’t leave my head) plays with The Old 97’s at The Meridian, The Dresden Dolls play with Smoosh at Warehouse Live, and The Mother Truckers play at Continental Club.

On Saturday (5.31.08), Sad Like Crazy and Rossi Mission play at Rudz, and Skyblue72 and Liviya Compean open for Patrice Pike at Warehouse Live. Also, the Allen Oldies Band play an in-store at Cactus Music at 3:30pm.

On Sunday (6.1.08), The Defenestration Unit plays Discovery Green Park.

Enjoy the weekend.

Advance warning: Flowers To Hide play their EP release show at Rudz next Friday night (6.6.08). Make plans to attend.
