I agree with you about The Mink just being too small for something like that. But since Mary Jane's went out it's been hard to find an indie place that could do 2 stages. I put on a couple of festivals at Mary Jane's/Walter's and had a great time, and would love to do that again, but can't really seem to find the right place to do it with 2 stages near each other. All there seems to be is Meridian and Warehouse Live, or maybe Engine Room/Jet Lounge, all of which are probably too big for this kind of thing... Still, it's great for Houston that this happened. I feel that the decision to have it at The Mink, as much as I love that place, was a poor one. It was difficult to even see any band that played downstairs unless you stayed there and missed a band upstairs. Much of the crowd stayed outside. But I hope they do it again -- somewhere else. Doors at six, first band should hit the stage around 8:30! There will be two stages, upstairs and down, so the music will be going on non-stop all night. party. HORRAY!
