Sorta (and New Bohemians) guitarist Carter Albrecht was shot and killed this weekend while apparently attempting to enter his girlfriend’s apartment.
The Houston Chronicle has an article from the AP and Dallas Observer‘s blog has some information as well.
I am a fan of Sorta’s music and have heard good things about Albrecht. The article doesn’t paint a pretty picture, however.

Carter’s funeral will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Parkway Hills Baptist Church in Plano, TX. 2700 N. Parkway off the tollroad.
Carter’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice in Carter’s name.
