Houston Calling

Music for you: Great Northern / Glen Reynolds / Maserati

June 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

Here’s some new and upcoming releases you should check out.

Great Northern, Trading Twilight For Daylight [website]
A pretty mellow affair, but this L.A.-based foursome rocks in their own shoegazey way.

Glen Reynolds, In Between Days [website]
Former Chomsky guitarist Reynolds shows his affection for all things Britrock (and who can blame him?) on his solo debut. Dallas label extraordinaire Idol Records (home to Black Tie Dynasty and PPT, among others) releases this album on Tuesday (6.5.07), but you can get it via iTunes now. Look for an interview with Reynolds in the June issue of Envy‘s Dallas issue.

Maserati, Inventions For The New Season [website]
They play Houston at Walter’s on June 12th with Austin’s My Education and the excellent Sharks and Sailors. You must see this show — their new album is incredible.
