Houston Calling

Some music I’m looking forward to…

April 28th, 2007 · 3 Comments

There are quite a few bands I like that are coming out with new albums this year. A few of them I have already heard, one way or another, and a few of them I am still waiting patiently to hear. Here’s a partial list of some albums I am really looking forward to in the next few months.

In no particular order:

All Smiles — Ten Readings Of A Warning (this is Jim Fairchild of Grandaddy’s new record)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — Baby 81 (it’s not Howl 2)
Porcupine Tree — Fear Of a Blank Planet
Maserati — Inventions For The New Season (get the vinyl May 1st)
Arthur Yoria – Handshake Smiles (on MySpace now, but the CD release is in May)
Wilco — Sky Blue Sky
Pelican — City Of Echoes
The Clientele — God Save The Clientele (playing in Houston in May)
Feist — The Reminder
The National — Boxer
The Bad Plus — Prog
Great Northern — Trading Twilight for Daylight (easily won me over at SXSW)
Megadeth — United Abominations
Art Brut — It’s a Bit Complicated
Ryan Adams — Easy Tiger
Bring Back The Guns
Spain Colored Orange
Satin Hooks
The White Stripes — Icky Thump
Queens Of The Stone Age — Era Vulgaris (heard some of it during SXSW & it was great)
The Webb Brothers (if you don’t own Maroon, you’re missing out…

Hopefully The Warlocks have a new one coming out soon as well. What about Tody Castillo? Radiohead?

I am sure there’s some I’m forgetting but this is good enough for now. Any others you think I missed? Let me know by posting below. Thanks.
