Houston Calling

Tonight’s music picks

April 14th, 2007 · No Comments

There’s a lot going on around the Houston area this evening, including big shows like My Chemical Romance and Muse at Reliant Arena (the rumor mill has the guys from Muse gracing The Dirt’s doors around 11:30pm or so).

Numbers hosts Blood Brother with Celebration and The Dead Science. This should be a good show.

The Drunks, New Disaster, and Novox play at Rudyard’s, while Moses Guest plays The Continental Club. Funky Mustard plays downstairs at Fitz’s with The Rising, Glenn Bryant, and The Blue Threads. Also, D.R.U.M. and Zwee play at Last Concert Cafe.

I think the most interesting choice for tonight is The Colour, a band I recently heard about, at The Engine Room. Pale plays around 9:30pm. Simon Dawes and Cage The Elephant are also on the bill. I saw Pale last night out in Spring for the opening party of Full Throttle Coffee and they played an excellent set. if you haven’t seen them live lately, I suggest checking them out. Plus, with The Engine Room’s sound you know it’ll be loud.

Have a good evening.
