Alanis Morissette video spoof of “My Humps”

April 3rd, 2007 · 2 Comments

The guys at Pitchfork are always tracking down quirky, obscure videos and songs. But this video of Alanis Morissette covering the Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” is hands-down the best I’ve seen so far. Not only is it great in its ridiculousness, but it proves just now utterly inane that song truly is.

I was never much of a fan of Morissette’s music–might have liked to go to the movies with her once or twice back in the day–but I have a newfound respect for her after seeing the video.

Great video, but god damn I couldn’t help but feel incredibly sad while watching it. She completely changed the meaning behind the song.

Sweet Jesus. This actually makes me really like Morissette, just for pointing out how freakin’ godawful-bad that song actually is…
