Not that my contribution really helps much with your ‘wondering if you missed anything’ inquiry …

Maybe not many people are posting here because you really *didn’t* miss anything!! 🙂 🙂

The three new bands I’ve totally enjoyed this year are The Dimes, Something Fierce, and Paris Falls. The songs on Paris Falls’ MySpace page are just really well done. And I listen to the Something Fierce record all the time. One of my top five local releases ever, for real. Oh, and the songs I’ve heard on Jenny Westbury’s MySpace are excellent. I need to see her live.

David, could you do an end-of-the-year “Best of Houston” podcast to expose us non-Houston-ites to some of the bands mentioned here?

I plan on doing a top 20 favorite local releases of 2006 list & will probably do a podcast or mix that has songs from some of those 20 bands.

The Western Civilization, Gretchen Schmaltz, Hollywood Black, The Ride Home

Essentially, the entire Mia Kat Empire roster.

And of course, Adley, my brother’s band.
