12th Annual Houston Women’s Festival today

Today at noon, come out to Jones Plaza downtown for the 12th Annual Houston Women’s Festival. There are several musicians slated to perform, including Austin’s Patrice Pike.

The event is organized by The Athena Art Project. According to the website, The Athena Art Project is organized with these principles in mind:

1. Art can and does change the world.
2. Women are worthy.
3. The Gulf Coast region, and Houston in particular, is fertile ground for creativity and art appreciation of all kinds.

Here’s the line-up for today’s festival:

Noon: Laurel
1pm: Erika Luckett
2pm: Adrian and The Sickness
3:05pm: Deidre McCalla
4:05pm: Echoset
5:15 pm: The Ginn Sisters
6:20pm: Garrison Starr
7:25pm: Ginger Leigh
8:45pm: Patrice Pike
Emcee: Nancy Ford

Tickets are $15 at the gate. Come out and show your support, if it doesn’t get rained out…
