An evening with David Bazan is tonight (Monday, 10.16.06) at The Proletariat. Not sure if the rain will hamper the show at all. If I hear anything about a cancellation, I will post something.

Miss Leslie & Her Juke-Jointers and Lee Alexander play Wednesday night (10.17.06) at The Continental Club.

Hellogoodbye plays with w/ Ozma and Cute Is What We Aim For at Numbers on Thursday (10.19.06).

Todd Barry, Sarah Tollemache, and Nick Aloutto play at Walter’s On Washington this Friday night (10.20.06).

The Album Leaf, whose new CD is great, play with The Lymbyc System and Sea Surrounds Me this Saturday night (10.21.06) at The Proletariat. Also on Saturday, Art Mummy, Murfph, and Organ Failure play at Super Happy Fun Land.

Jenny Lewis and The Watson Twins play with Okkervil River and Oakley Hall this Sunday (10.22.06) at Numbers.

Also on Sunday, 10.22.06, Tody Castillo and The Mighty Orq play a special acoustic-styled gig together at the Mucky Duck. This is a special early show that start at 7pm. Should be a great night of local music.

And please don’t forget to come out next Monday, 10.23.06 (a week from today), to The Proletariat for the second Houston Calling happy hour show, which features Something Fierce, Southern Backtones, and Bright Men Of Learning. This is an early show — the music starts at 7pm and ends by 10pm — so please make plans to come out and listen to some great bands and hang out while supporting local music.
