Today’s SugarHill Sessions on 90.1 KPFT hosts one of Houston’s best new bands, Spain Colored Orange, who recently were voted Local Musician of the Year, Best Indie Rock, Best Keyboardist, and Album of the Year.

This month’s session includes an in-studio performance by the band, which play songs off their 2006 EP, em>Hopelessly Incapable Of Standing in the Way. The program also features a sneak preview of two new untitled songs that will be featured on SCO’s new album. KPFT DJ Rhonda Garner interviews Spain Colored Orange, discusses the local music scene, getting signed to their new label Lucid Records, and the infamous “curse” of the Houston Press Music Awards.

Be sure to tune in to The SugarHill Sessions with Spain Colored Orange, today (Friday, 8.25.06) on KPFT 90.1FM at 2pm CST. The show can also be streamed live from http://www.kpft.org.
