There’s a lot going on in town this week.

On Wednesday, Bright Men Of Learning (whose CD I reviewed here) plays at The Proletariat with Nothus. Tx, The Summer Wardrobe, and Judeross.

On Thursday, Sharks and Sailors, Sinews, and Blades play at Rudyard’s. Also, The Scattered Pages play at The Continental Club on Thursday night is cancelled due to an injury to their drummer.

On Friday, Savoy Special, Tody Castillo, and The Gentleman’s Club play at Last Concert Cafe.

Saturday is Rad Rich’s 4th Annual Backyard Birthday Bash at The Meridian, The show, which starts at 4pm (doors at 2pm), features The Kimonos, MC Skills, Desangeri, Zipperneck, Otenki, Will 2 Live, Les Saucy Pants, The Black Math Experiment, Something Fierce, High Divers, Luxurious Panthers, skyblue72, The Suspects, Refuse To Fall, The Grave Robbers, Poor Dumb Bastards, 10 Seconds Flat, Tread, G-Zilla, Q.U.E., Cee Plus & The House of Bad Knives, DJ Chill, The Big Take Over Soundsystem, and DJ Big E. This is going to be amazing — lots of great local music.

Also on Saturday, Stadium and Radio Pioneer play with Damiera and Spirit Of The Stairway at Walter’s. And, don’t ask me why, but Devo, Psychedelic Furs, and When In Rome are playing Reliant Arena. I can’t remember how much it holds but the Furs barely had a crowd at the Verizon last time they played in town. Maybe Devo will bring fans out of the woodwork. Again, maybe not…
