JamHouston.com presents Extemporama, nights of improv

April 14th, 2006 · No Comments

JamHouston.com and Super Happy Fun Land have teamed up to bring Houston a new monthly music event known as Extemporama, which starts April 27th.

According to Nino at JamHouston.com, Extemporama is:

“a monthly improvised music event… an evening of 100% improvised music… an event for free jazzers and jambands to come improvise like mad, but it’s also for any and all types of music to be performed — either entirely or almost entirely improvised. It’s an event for exploration and spontaneity, experimentation and discovery… Extemporama can offer a wider range of sounds during any given show, comprising of tasteful melodies, groove jamming, calming textures, angular chops, atonal exploring, or any combination thereof. Anything goes, and it likely will.”

JamHouston.com will feature a new web radio channel called “Extemporadio” in May, which will feature Extemporama performers’ music and live performances, 24/7 around the globe. If you haven’t yet checked out this site, visit it online here.
