SXSW is this week in Austin, so there are a lot of shows passing through town.

Mogwai plays Tuesday night (3.14.06) at Numbers. This is going to be a good show — get your tickets from Super Unison.

Houston musician Lanky also plays Tuesday at The Big Top (3700 Main St, a few doors down from the Continental Club) as part of the Sleeping Rubys’ Tuesday night residency. Lanky’s Acoustic Quartet will play a set at 10pm.

On Wednesday, The Strokes and QOTSA side-project Eagles of Death Metal play at Verizon Wireless Theater. Wow. Also on Wednesday, Particle and skyblue72 play at The Meridian.

On Friday night, The Hunger plays at Scout Bar in Clear Lake with Prognosis, Neverset, and Primary. Happy St. Paddy’s.

On Saturday, Tody Castillo plays at Rudyard’s. The Velvet Teen and Aloha play Walter’s on Washington.
