The Cult is coming back to Houston on March 11th at Warehouse Live.
No word yet on tickets, but I assume it’ll be this weekend. And something tells me they’re not going to be cheap — it takes a lot of coin to keep Ian Astbury in Morrisson-esque leather pants and headbands.
With all of the shows I have planned to see over the next few months, I will probably pass on this one. One, I doubt I’ll pay $75 to see any band, unless it’s Pink Floyd and a good seat. Two, I saw The Cult at Verizon last time through — general admission. We got close enough to see that you don’t want to be that close to them. I doubt the show at Warehouse will be any better, although what I read indicated that Astbury and Co. plan to whip out older tunes.
But I am 99.99 percent sure they won’t play “Brother Wolf, Sister Moon” — that might be worth $75.
In other “reunion” news:
Fig Dish is playing a show, apparently a one-off at Schuba’s in Chicago, on March 3rd. Okay, so a plane ticket to Chicago costs more than $75, sue me…
