Houston Calling

Dropsonic hits Houston this weekend

August 4th, 2005 · No Comments

If you haven’t heard the latest release from Atlanta’s Dropsonic, you have a chance this weekend to see the band in its live glory at the Southmore House. Their new album, which (uh) drops on August 23rd, is called Insects With Angel Wings, and sounds like a cross between GVSB and the Stones. It’s an odd combo, but the band manages to make it work — their new songs should be great live.

If you’re a fan of bands like ZZ Top and Queens of the Stone Age,and also like Fugazi and Girls Against Boys, then Dropsonic is probably a good one for you to check out. They play with Subscript, Terrorism, Insect Warfare, and PLF.

Go after you see The Dimes and Sitka Sound at Super Happy Fun Land, of course — that show starts at 5:30 p.m.
