Tonight, Arthur Yoria will plays with local favs Pale (!) and Canvas @ Fat Cat’s. Show is at 10 p.m.

Also tonight, Houston’s Fondue Monks bring their eclectic funk-rock sound to Rhythm Room (1815 Washington near downtown). Be sure to pick up their latest CD, Live.

This Saturday night at the Rhythm Room, duneTX will play their first spring show–you’ll hear some new stuff, old stuff, and whatever else the band can dig up. This ia an 18-and-over show. The bands start at 10.

also on Saturday night, Arthur Yoria plays Helio’s (upstairs). Here’s the night’s schedule:
9:15-10:00 Joey from iSOLA
10:15-11:00 Ryan & Sean formerly of Sly Letter, now Root Level
11:15-12:00 Jeff from deep ella
12am Arthur Yoria

Tody & The Falcon also play on Saturday night at the Flying Saucer bar in downtown @ 10pm. This bar has more beer than you could ever drink.

On Monday, the beginning of the SXSW week (in Austin), The Decemberists(everyone’s indie favorites) are coming to Rudyard’s. The Decemberists are a band from Portland and their albums have made several best-of lists. Oregonian Tom Heinl also opens, and MeoWcifer will play one of its last shows for the forseeable future. Cover for this great set of music is only $8. Come early, eat some fish’n’chips, and have a few drinks. This is will be a great show to take in before heading to Austin later in the week.

Sonic Youth plays the Club V (atVerizon Theater) on Wednesday night. It’s the first time they have graced our fare city in approximately 8 years so now’s your chance to see them. Who knows how long it will be before you get another chance. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster and are $19.50. Before fees, I’m sure. I suggest going to the theater’s box office–the fees are typically much less if you buy the tickets there in advance.

See you at some shows.
