Houston Calling

Houston music this week

February 15th, 2004 · No Comments

Tonight, Austin’s David Garza continues his weekly Texas tour by playing a *FREE SHOW* at The Big Top, the Continental Club’s newest addition to the club scene. The new place is right by the Continental Club and offers no cover, great music (courtesy of their jukebox full of 45’s), and live entertainment from time-to-time. And, did I mention NO COVER?!? Be sure to come out at 7 p.m. tonight and check out David Garza. He’s one of the best performers out there right now–his shows are full of energy. In my opinion, it’s hard to find another musician as good to his fans as he is. Maybe he’ll let us in on those box set rumors. Visit his website for more details.

Wear your finest red and black and head on out for a night of rockabilly from hell. For those who missed out on my interview with Flametrick Subs, as Duffy says, “make with the clicky.”

Also, Fondue Monks are sure to pack the house at Rudyard’s. Get there early to get your table. Also, pick up a copy of Fondue Monks Live, their latest CD, while you’re there. Tell ’em Houston Calling sent you. There is a fan club website that seems to be updated more than their “official” site.

Oh yeah, I watched the movie Thirteen last night. Never having a daughter. It’s a good film though–be sure to check it out. PS: I love Netflix.

Also, I just found out that the Mr. Plow CD release party is March 6th at Fat Cat’s. Mark those calendars. See the Houston Calling interview I did with Mr. Plow last June here.
