Celebrate good times, c’mon

July 9th, 2003 · No Comments

Local band duneTX is playing as part of Numbers 25th Anniversary celebration (25 different events in 25 days). Come out Thursday (7.10.03) and see if the band will throw in a Depeche Mode or New Order cover in honor of the occasion.

duneTX goes on around 10 p.m. The bill also features our favs The Contingency, Overshot, House of Moist, and Tokyo Space Cadets. Come show your support! Doors open at 8 p.m.

Numbers has played host to countless bands over the years. I have seen a wide variety of acts there, including Fig Dish, Local H, Veruca Salt, BRMC, Spiritualized, Travis, and The Rev. Horton Heat. For the club’s complete concert history, click here.

They are also known to host a great goth night.

In other music news, Magnet Magazine is hosting its 10th Anniversary Concert, featuring Guided By Voices, the Shins, and My Morning Jacket (who are an incredible live act). Tickets are $19 (take that, Perry Farrell). More information can be found at the Magnet website.

One last note, rumor has it that the Houston Chronicle has released a compilation CD of local music, featuring the likes of duneTX and the Southern Backtones, among others. I have yet to find anything about it online but will post more information once it is available.

Curious about what satan has been up to lately? Read about it here. Never a dull moment once you’ve sold your soul, I guess.
